Desert Survivor

In "The New Complete Walker" it is said that walkers dream about wild places, far from any road. However they have to overcome a mental block, their fear of the unknown. If they do, then they are free to explore the Mojave Desert, a truly wild place. Established as a National Preserve in 1994 by the California Desert Protection Act and with it's 1.6 million acres of mountains, rocks and dry lake beds the Mojave Desert gives the walker and the true desert survivor an opportunity for solitude and silence.
