San Clemente, California: I went to see a surf film called Chasing Dora. It is about the late surfing great Miki Dora. Dora set a challenge while he was alive that a surf contest should have some golden rules. Not like the ASP rules of late which he despised. The contest should take place in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa one of Miki’s favorite waves. No wetsuits is rule #1. Rule #2 No leash, Rule #3 longest wave wins. Mickie Munoz won the contest with an 8 ft. bomb that not even Mickie could believe. All of the surfboard logos are from the Surf Heritage museum that houses well over 200 antique surfboards of cultural significance.
