Panama Canal

Panama Canal, Panama: I have been traveling to Panama for some time now. This last trip was to observe the Referendum where the people of Panama would vote to either enlarge the size of the canal or to keep status quo. On October 22nd, the people voted to enlarge the canal which has kicked off one of the largest engineering projects ever. The project will take at least 7 years and cost more then $5 billion. I rode with the Boatero’s who secure the lines from the ships to the canal’s locks and spent time seeing the canal run and it’s highest capacity levels since Panama took over operations from the US in 1999.
