Near Bejucal, Dominican Republic: Beisball, Beisball and Beisball. That is the number one money maker for the youth of the DR. Most families toil in the Cane fields to support their aspiring ball players. This community is in the middle of one of the largest swaths of cane I have ever seen. Workers hands become so callused that they look and feel like gloves. Workers generally earn less then a dollar a day. It’s extremely physical work.
