| A ball and a stick |
| Arabs, Persians, Greeks, Romans, and Aztec Indians played a form of hockey where they used a ball and a stick. In 1850 modern hockey development itself in England. Several variations of the game including the ban of using hands or lifting the sticks above the shoulder were introduced. From England the game spread to its colonies India, Pakistan and Australia.
